Import companies from a CSV
Bring your company list into Solid in four steps.
Import companies before people and deals, because those records link to companies.
Before you start
- The file is CSV, XLSX or XLS, with fewer than 10,000 rows.
- No two rows share a domain.
- Every custom field you want to fill already exists in Settings → Data Model.
1. Prepare the file
| Column | Format | Note |
|---|---|---|
name | Text | The company's display name |
Domain / Domain URL | https://acme.com | Used to avoid duplicates |
Address / City, Address / Country | Text | Address is split into columns |
employees | Number | Optional |
name,Domain / Domain URL,Address / City,Address / Country,employees
Acme Industries,https://acme.com,São Paulo,Brazil,250
Northwind Logistics,https://northwind.com,Lisbon,Portugal,40Write domains as https://domain.com. It matches the format Solid uses when it creates companies from emails, which prevents duplicates later.
2. Open the importer
Go to Companies, open the ⋮ menu at the top right and choose Import records. You can also press Ctrl + K and type import.
3. Upload and map
Select the file. Solid matches columns to fields automatically. Check each match, fix any that are wrong, and choose Do not import for columns you don't need.
4. Review and import
Solid flags rows with problems, such as an invalid domain. Fix them in the preview or in your file, then click Import. The new companies appear in the list when the import finishes.
