Workflows
Turn the rules that live in someone's head into routines that run on their own.
Workflows automate repetitive work and connect Solid to other tools, with no code required (though you can add code when you need it).
How a workflow works
- Trigger: what starts it.
- Steps: what happens next, one or more actions in order.
- Variables: data passed from one step to the next, such as the record that triggered the workflow.
Triggers
| Trigger | When it runs |
|---|---|
| Record event | A record is created, updated or deleted |
| Manual | Someone clicks a button on one record, several records or anywhere |
| Schedule | On a recurring interval |
| Webhook | Another system sends an HTTP request |
Actions
- Records: create, update, find or delete records
- Email: send or draft an email from a connected account
- HTTP request: call any external API
- Code: run JavaScript for complex logic
- Branch: split the path with an if/else condition
- Iterator: repeat steps for each item in a list
- AI agent: let an agent process data or propose an action
- Delay and Form: wait, or ask a person for input mid-way
Ideas
- Create a follow-up task when a deal moves to Proposal
- Alert the owner when a deal has had no activity for a week (guide)
- Send new web leads from a form straight into Solid with a webhook
